Lanhydrock Car Boot FAQ
Will there be a Car Boot this Saturday?
If the weather permits, there will be Car Boot event every Saturday from the beginning of April through to the end of October (Exact dates to be confirmed). If we know in advance that the Car Boot event is likely to be called off because of bad weather or for any other reason ie the ground is too wet, we will give notice of this on the Lanhydrock Car Boot website.
What are the fees for sellers?
Cars £7 , SUV’s and 4×4’s £8, Small Trailers £4.00, Large Trailers £6.00, Vans £11, Lorries are NOT ALLOWED as the site is unsuitable. Prices for 2023 Season Onwards
Are there any fees for Buyers?
There’s a charge of £1 per adult (children under 12 free) the admission is taken on entry into the buyers parking field.
Can I book my pitch in advance?
No. Pitches are allocated on a first come first served basis. Its best to arrive early (we open the gates to sellers from 8.00am).
What time will buyers be allowed through to the sellers pitches?
The buyers are allowed through into the sellers area at 10am sharp.
Do I need to bring my own tables?
Yes. You have to provide all your own equipment.
What can I sell?
Nearly everything can be sold at a car boot – toys books clothes paintings crockery bikes shoes LPs furniture sports equipment garden tools.
Is there anything I can’t sell?
Yes there is. Any banned substances, alcohol, weapons, dangerous objects, illegally copied merchandise, or animals or pets of any kind CANNOT BE SOLD!.
What price should I charge?
You decide the prices but remember people are out for a bargain so really expensive items may not be popular!
Is it just cars that are allowed?
No. Vans are allowed, as are cars with a trailer.
What time does the Car Boot sellers pitches open?
The gates will open at 8.00am for sellers who can start setting up as soon as they arrive.
What time will the car boot finish?
There is no set closing time but it does normally finish around 12 pm. For all our customers health and safety buyers are asked to be sensible and drive very carefully when leaving the site whilst the Car Boot is still taking place. Please be considerate of buyers and sellers still on site.
Where will the catering facilities be?
There are Hot Drinks and Bacon baps etc available on the sellers side of the site through permitted food concessions so that you may enjoy refreshments while you are waiting for the selling to start. There is also Kelly’s ice cream van as well, selling cold drinks ices etc. No other food vendors are allowed to sell on site.
Will there be toilet facilities at the event?
Yes there are 3 toilets on site.
Is there disabled access?
There is disabled parking, although the grass in the field is kept short the ground is uneven in places and not suitable for wheelchairs.
How do I get to the Car Boot Sale?
Check out the map on our website and on Turfdown roundabout look out for the black feather “Car Boot” flags on the Turfdown roundabout and follow the signs for the entrance.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes of course dogs are welcome at the event but please keep your dogs on leads at all times and we do ask that you respect other visitors and the venue whcih we keep immaculately and clear up after their pets. DOGS MUST NOT BE LEFT IN CARS.
